About the Artist

Bart’s artistic career began in 1999 with a community education class in introductory pastel painting. He took the class three times and continued to devote more time to painting on his own. His first show was in 2001 in a supermarket restaurant. Since then, his paintings have won awards at the local, regional, and national levels. He is Past President of Minnesota’s Lake Country Pastel Society and one of five Minnesota pastel artists recognized as a Signature Member by the Pastel Society of America in New York City.

Bart's works can be found in the Twin Cities area at Studio 10, a gallery in HarMar Mall in Roseville, and at Legacy Art and Gifts on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. He is represented by Sivertson Gallery in Duluth and in Grand Marais. His studio is in the Off Raymond Arts Community in the Midway area of St. Paul, where he lives with his wife, Lynn.

Until 2003, Bart was Director of Continuing Education at the Medical School at the University of Minnesota. He currently works part-time in the area of continuing medical education for the Heart Failure Society of America.
